John my man,

If you have changed it in your code in the correct place the search engines should pick it up the next time they crawl your site. It might be anywhere from two days to three weeks before you see the change.

Note that you can specify width and height of images within the arguments of the img tag (after, say, you list src – so img src=”img.jpg” height=”correct_ratio” width=”pixels_your_column_is_formatted_for”).

Also, you definitely need a meta line for “keywords” in addition to description – this is what the engines will crawl for inquiries. The description is what will show in the text below the results (make sure to add it to your default index page, too! note your description[s] when google’d).
